Japanese photographer Saburo Miyadera's photo collection "Alleys: Numazu and Mishima, Shizuoka Prefecture 1977-1979". Born in Fukushima Prefecture in 1945, Saburo Miyadera has an unusual career, having graduated from the Faculty of Agriculture at Rakuno Gakuen University and worked at a livestock artificial insemination laboratory at the Shizuoka Prefectural Livestock Research Center. He has been aspiring to be a photographer since the early 1970s, and has founded and run his own photo studio since 1975. He has previously released masterpieces such as "Ideyu no Onna" and "Paris," which are photographs of geisha at hot springs in Izu's post towns, but this book is his first photo collection published in 1979, and is literally a book composed of snapshots of "alleys." Although the images are casual depictions of ordinary people, the photographer's outstanding observational skills and unique perspective give the book a sense of his outstanding sense. This book is from Norasho, the publisher of which Kitai Kazuo is president and Osaki Norio is editor, and which published many classic photo books in the 1970s and 1980s, including Kimura Ihei's "Paris." Please also take a look at "Neighborhood" (Aihara Eiji), which was also shot in Shizuoka Prefecture and published by Norasho.
