The Banquet is a photo book by Nobuyoshi Araki (1940-), one of Japan's leading photographers. Influenced by his father, a clog craftsman and amateur photographer, he started photography, and after graduating from the Department of Photographic Printing Engineering at Chiba University's Faculty of Engineering, he joined Dentsu. In 1971, while working, he published a private edition of Sentimental Journey, and began his career as a photographer.
