Cy Twombly: Photographs 1951 - 2007 (Softcover) is a collection of works by the American painter Cy Twombly (1928-2011). Born in Lexington, Virginia, he studied painting at the Boston School of Art and the Art Students League in New York, and his talent was highly praised from his student days. In the mid-1950s, he made a name for himself along with Rauschenberg and Jasper Johns, and is now known as one of the leading figures in modern art of the 20th century. In 2016, an exhibition titled "Cy Twombly's Photographs - Lyricism of Variations" was held at the Kawamura Memorial DIC Museum of Art, which has been the subject of much discussion in recent years due to shareholder issues and will close in March 2025. The exhibition focused on "photography" and became a hot topic, and the catalog was out of print and popular. This book also mainly features "photographs" taken in the 1990s and 2000s. From studios, interiors, still life, to landscapes, this book is filled with abstract images that are characteristic of Twombly, and also includes illustrations from Sally Mann Studio. It's a truly poetic book. Softcover edition.
