"Empty White Room" is a photo collection by Yurie Nagashima, one of Japan's leading female photographers. In 1993, when she was 20 years old and a student at an art school, Yurie Nagashima made a striking debut by winning the Parco Award at the "Tokyo Urbanart #2 Exhibition" for a series of nude portraits of her family. In 1995, she moved to the United States and studied at the California Institute of the Arts, where she photographed the skate scene, road culture, and more. In 2000, she won the Kimura Ihei Photography Award for her photo collection "PASTIME PARADISE," a compilation of photos from her university days (also won by HIROMIX and Mika Ninagawa). In recent years, she has also been active as a writer, winning the Kodansha Essay Award (2010) for her short story collection "Memories of the Back." This book is the second book published in the same year, following the first self-portrait collection "YURIE NAGASHIMA" (Fuga Shobo) published in 1995. An intimate book capturing close friends from their school days. Includes a separate copy of a handwritten letter. Obi missing.
