A photo book by Finnish photographer Pentti Samaratti. A landscape photographer who is very popular in Japan. He taught photography at the University of Art and Design Helsinki, the largest art university in the Nordic countries, and in the early 1990s, when he was in his 40s, he was awarded a 15-year grant, which prompted him to dedicate himself to the path of photography. Since then, he has traveled around the world, including Finland and other Nordic countries, the UK, Japan, and China, taking photos and winning numerous awards both in Japan and abroad. Samaratti's works focus on landscapes, animals, and humans. The vast earth, the animals that live there, and the human figures are poetically expressed in monochrome, creating a tranquil work that is warm and sometimes lonely. This book is a collection of his early representative works from 1996. It includes the interesting texts "The Strength of the Earth" and "Images in Book Art." Written in English and Finnish.
