Amateurs & Lovers is a collection of works by Nikolai Bakarev, a photographer from Siberia, Russia. Born in Mikhailovka, a village with a population of less than 10,000 in the eastern part of the Russian Federation, Bakarev worked as a machinist and factory photographer in a factory in the former Soviet Union in the 1980s, but in his private life he secretly took portraits and even took nude photos of intimate partners indoors. However, under the strict control of a socialist state, depicting nudity and eroticism was of course taboo, so it is likely that he did so in secret.
