A photo book by Lithuanian-born painter and photographer Moi Ver (real name Moshé Raviv-Vorobeichic). Martin Parr, a photographer of Magnum Photos and a collector of over 10,000 photo books, asked, "If your house burned down and you could only take two photo books, which would you choose?" The answer was "Map" by Kikuji Kawada and "Paris" published by Moi Ver in 1931. Moi Ver initially aspired to be a painter, and studied under Paul Klee, Wassily Kandinsky, and Josef Albers at the Bauhaus in the 1920s, after which he studied photography. His avant-garde works, which use montage, out-of-focus, extreme close-ups, and high-contrast productions, are highly regarded worldwide. This book is a collection of works published on the occasion of a major retrospective held at the Pompidou Center in Paris in 2023, and contains 230 illustrations.
