Sofort Bilder (German version of the English edition Instant Stories) is a collection of works by Wim Wenders, a German film director and photographer. In addition to producing famous films, Wenders, who is also active as a photographer, has also produced many famous photo books, such as Written in the West. This book is made up of 36 stories written with text using 403 Polaroid photos that Wenders has taken over the years in various countries around the world. Since visiting Japan for the first time in the 1970s and being fascinated by the world of "family" and "children" expressed by Yasujiro Ozu, Wenders has become a Japanophile, and records the billboards and signs he took at that time, as well as a scene from Nagisa Oshima's production site that he photographed during a visit to Kyoto. Like Hockney's "Polaroid collages," what I saw and felt at the time was not "one thing," so the style of expressing the diverse perspectives and thoughts through laying out multiple Polaroids on one page is interesting. First edition published in 2017, hardcover. German version.
