A photo book by Japanese photographer Kishin Shinoyama, "Higuchi Kanako + Shinoyama Kishin Accidents Series 1". Many photographers struggle to balance "commercial" and "art" creative activities. Kishin Shinoyama is probably one of the most successful photographers in the postwar Japanese photography world. He is generally known for his child idol photos and gravure nudes by Chiaki Kuriyama and others, but in the early 1970s he also left behind many works that are considered masterpieces in the art photography world, such as "Olere Olala" (1971), "House" (1975), and "Sunny Day" (1975). This book is the first issue of the "Accidents Series", a popular mini-sized version of the photo book of actress Kanako Higuchi, published in 1991. Model Higuchi's photo book was the first of the 1990s nude boom, and was followed later by Rie Miyazawa's "Santa Fe," also shot by Shinoyama (both with art direction by Tsuguya Inoue). At the beginning of the book, Higuchi is posed in front of flowers, barely smiling and with a melancholy expression, but then she lies down on a futon in an open yukata robe, transforming into a coquettish atmosphere. This is a moment when we can sense Higuchi's confidence as an actress, and when eroticism and beauty intertwine. She also has a cigarette in her mouth.
