"Kamagasaki" is a collection of works by Japanese photographer Masao Nakamuta. Born in Fukuoka Prefecture in 1979, Nakamuta moved to Osaka in 1998 and began working at a photo studio, where he learned about cameras and began taking documentary photographs himself. The images of "Kamagasaki" included in this work are composed of images taken over a period of more than 15 years, starting around 2000. Kamagasaki is known as the "Airin district" where day laborers gather, and is a town that still retains a "human feel" and was once visited by many photographers, including Seiryu Inoue, to take photographs. In recent years, the town has been undergoing redevelopment, and the scenery is gradually being lost. This is a valuable collection of records by a photographer who has continued to face and photograph the daily life of this area and the people who live there since ancient times while actually living there.
