Aether is a collection of works by Kohei Nawa, a leading contemporary artist and sculptor in Japan. Born in Osaka in 1975, Nawa studied at Kyoto City University of Arts, and began exhibiting his work at solo exhibitions in the 2000s. His work "PixCell," which is a deer stuffed animal covered in crystal glass spheres, is a symbol of the information society and is famous as one of his representative works. His other works, such as "Glue," which uses adhesive, "Drawing," which focuses on the relationship between ink and paper, and "Scum," which uses polyurethane foam, have attracted attention for their new attempts that distinguish him from traditional sculptures by focusing on materials and their surfaces. He is an artist who is active in a wide range of scenes, from art to fashion, and has also gained popularity through collaborations with collection brands such as Comme des Garçons and Christian Dior. This book is a collection of works published at the time of an exhibition held at Pace Gallery in New York, and introduces a carefully selected collection of his major works from the past 15 years. Co-published by Pace and Sandwich, led by Nawa.
