"Jubilee" is a collection of works by Mayumi Hosokura, one of Japan's leading female photographers. Born in Kyoto in 1979, she graduated from the Department of Literature at Ritsumeikan University and the Department of Photography at Nihon University College of Art. Mayumi Hosokura has been highly praised for her unique nudes and her depictions of delicate beauty through contrast with still lifes and landscapes. The "superficial" beauty of her work, which is sometimes swaying and overlapping, has an originality that is different from so-called collages, and in recent years, as shown at Kyoto Graphie, she has been actively working on more "multilayered" creations through installations that incorporate videos, etc. This book is composed of images taken in the 2010s not only in Japan but also in Taiwan and Hong Kong, and although it is an image of a return to the origins of portraits, it is a book that is like a microcosm of near-future photography, where photos will deepen and evolve with chains of images and coloring through filters. Art direction and design by Hideki Nakajima.
