Personal Matters is a collection of works by Japanese photographer Hasui Motohiko. Born in Yamagata Prefecture in 1983, he grew up in Tokyo and moved to the UK in 2003. He completed the foundation course at Central Saint Martins Art and Design, then studied photography at the London College of Communication, and has since been based in Tokyo, working in fashion and commercial work both in Japan and overseas. At the same time, he continues to take snapshots regularly, like a diary, and presents his work through privately published collections, zines, and even exhibitions. This is his first book, published in 2013, and is a collection of images taken from his daily life over the past four years. It is a photographer's diary reminiscent of the leather notebook Moleskine.
