"ARAKI by ARAKI" is a photobook by Nobuyoshi Araki, one of Japan's leading photographers. In 2003, to commemorate his 40th anniversary as a professional photographer, Araki selected 2002 photographs from his entire body of work, including 300 previously unpublished images. The book begins with "Satchin," which won the first Taiyo Award in 1963, and continues with "Middle-aged Woman," which captured the faces of women walking the streets during their lunch break while working at Dentsu, and "Subway Portraits," which photographed passengers on the subway. In the 1970s, he created the legendary photobook "Xerox Photobook," which was handmade using equipment at the company, and "Sentimental Journey," which documented his honeymoon with his wife, Yoko. After leaving Dentsu, he photographed the streets of Tokyo again in "Tokyo in Autumn," and collaborated with editor Akira Suei on "Fake Reportage." In the 1980s, he created "Tokyo Diary" and "Storm of Love," and Chiro also makes an appearance. This book features works from the 1990s, including "Sentimental Journey, Winter Journey" which depicts Yoko's death, and "Ink Tales," which features prints of S&M play processed with ink. Works from the 2000s, such as "Erotic Flower," "Erotic Maniac," and "Faces of Japanese People," are presented in chronological order. This is a highly valuable document that comprehensively covers her 40-year career. Published in 2003, first printing. With dust jacket.
