Romantico (Regular Edition) is a photo book by Japanese photographer Daisuke Ito (1976-). After graduating from university, he studied photography at the design school "IDEP" in Barcelona, then traveled around Central and South America for two years, and since 2004 has been living in the favelas (slums) of Rio de Janeiro and working as a photographer. His pursuit of "reality" and "authenticity," and his serious challenge in dangerous worlds that most people would not normally visit, was featured in a special feature on TBS's "Crazy Journey," which became a hot topic. This is the popular version published by East Press in 2019. The following is from the author's afterword: "I wanted a work that was 'narrow and deep' rather than 'broad and shallow'. Prostitutes, boxers, people from the favelas. The admiration for those who survive. This photo book is a record of the romance I felt in the brave figures of these people, and of my growing closeness to them. Perhaps only those who can feel 'death' close to me are able to strive to live its opposite, 'life', more intensely." Obi missing.
