A Long The Riverrun is a collection of works by American photographer John Brook (1924-2016). Born in Woonsocket, Rhode Island, Brook became interested in cameras from an early age at the urging of his father. After graduating from Harvard University, Brook established a studio on Newbury Street in Boston in 1946 after the war and worked there for nearly 40 years. During that time, Brook was selected for group exhibitions with Harry Callahan and Paul Caponigro at George Eastman House and other venues, won the gold medal at the Milan Biennale, and was also active as an exclusive photographer for the Boston Symphony Orchestra. However, Brook was involved in an accident in the late 1980s and spent time in a rehabilitation center before passing away in 2016. Brook has been unknown since 2000, but his first major exhibition was held at the Griffin Museum of Photography in Boston in 2021, and he has been attracting attention again. This is Brook's first book, published in 1970, and is a collection of works that depict love between men and women, love between children, and love between family members in beautiful black and white.
