Land of Milk and Honey is a collection of works by Austrian photographer Paul Kranzler. Born in Linz in 1979, Kranzler studied under Joachim Brohm at the Academy in Leipzig, Germany, and was an assistant to Nick Waplington, who is also known for his popular masterpiece Living Room. Kranzler is now a freelance photographer. Kranzler is known for his documentaries, but this book is about the daily lives of elderly people living in Linz on subsidies, and Kranzler himself lived in the apartment as a resident. This is a collection of works that capture the daily lives of people who can no longer maintain a typical middle-class lifestyle, with love for them and irony towards the world. The series of impactful close-up images is reminiscent of Richard Billingam's Ray's a Laugh. Published in Parr&Badger's The Photobook: A History Volume III.
