Self-image is a collection of works by Mika Ninagawa (1972-), one of Japan's leading female photographers. She is the daughter of stage director Yukio Ninagawa and actress Tomoko Mayama, and graduated from Toho Girls' High School and Tama Art University's Department of Graphic Design. Along with Hiromix, she is a photographer who represents the "girly photo" boom of the 1990s, and is also active as a video artist, having directed the music video for AKB48's "Heavy Rotation." She is also famous for her portraits of celebrities and her lustrous still lives of flowers, which are also described as "Ninagawa color." This book is a catalog of works published on the occasion of an exhibition held at the Hara Museum of Contemporary Art in Tokyo in 2015, and includes everything from monochrome self-portraits to landscapes and still lives in Ninagawa color. The binding is by Satoru Machiguchi.
