Nobuyoshi Araki is one of Japan's leading photographers. Influenced by his father, a clog craftsman and amateur photographer, he began taking photographs, and in the 1970s he released sensational works such as "Oh Japan" and "Sentimental Journey". This book is a photo book published in 1991. After his beloved wife Yoko passed away in 1990, Araki only took pictures of the sky in black and white, but he started taking pictures of flowers and gradually began to seek color, which led to this book, "Color Scenery". "After my wife passed away, I didn't just take pictures of the sky from inside the room. I went out to the balcony from the room and from the balcony, I took pictures of the sky, the wind, the light, the persimmon tree next door, and the ivy entwined around the terrace... I took pictures of such "close-ups" in black and white for a year. On the first anniversary of her death, I took a self-portrait on the balcony wearing Yoko's almond pink coat, with Yoko's posthumous portrait in the background, in color. From that day, my "color scenery" began" (from the text "Color Scenery" at the end of the book). Cityscapes, close-ups of flowers, nudes... The 6x7 size photographs are striking in vivid colors, with primary colors such as red and green as the focal points. Comes with obi. Signed .
