"Town of Corrugated Iron Sheets" is a photo collection by Japanese photographer Michihiko Tani. Born in Kagawa Prefecture in 1933, Michihiko Tani lives in Okayama, and has published his work in magazines such as Asahi Camera and Camera Mainichi. Since the 1990s, he has held solo exhibitions at salons such as Nikon and Konica Minolta. Since 2000, he has left Tokyo and is now working in a group with fellow amateur photographer Takato Yamagami, who has published "Time Outside the Clock / A Timeless Life (1994)" in his hometown of Okayama. Although he has published many photo collections such as "Winds of Otafu" and "My Town Tamano," most of them have not been sold commercially, so the collections of his work that remain are extremely valuable. This is his third photo collection, and is composed of landscapes with a "corrugated iron sheet" motif. The works, which were praised by Kenichiro Tamada, the editor-in-chief of Rokkor magazine, are simple yet powerful, and despite their simple format, the deep black tones are beautifully printed. The book's appeal is further enhanced by the editing by Hasegawa Akira, who is also well known for his work on Fukase Masahisa's masterpiece "Ravens."
