"Moments In Between" is a photo book by Swedish photographer Jens Olof Lasthein. Lasthein grew up in Denmark and studied at the Nordic Photo School in Stockholm from 1989 to 1992. While working as a freelance photographer for magazines and newspapers, he also works on personal projects for long periods of time, presenting the results in books and exhibitions. He has held exhibitions in Sweden, Denmark and Italy. This book was co-written with journalist/writer Jesper Lindau and documents the former Yugoslavia that the two visited between 1994 and 1999. At that time, the Yugoslav civil war was also taking place, and this book contains many photos that convey that situation. The photos of the city, with destroyed buildings, armored vehicles, and overturned cars that may have been bombed, exude an ominous mood. Even in such a terrible situation, he captures fragments of everyday life, such as people's lives and children playing. This is a good social documentary book that compiles the trajectory of long-term photography. (Published in Parr&Badger Vol Ⅱ)
